Untitled oil paint on board depicting a vibrant Parisian nightlife scene, in a beaded decorative frame with museum glass. Raymond Houlihan was assigned as a combat solder to a front line armored division in Europe during World War II. There, he sketched real time accounts of what he witnessed. After the war, Houlihan continued to paint and sketch people in city scenes such as Paris and New York City, he also became a famed newspaper cartoonist. Matted and framed in a painted wood frame with glass. Signed “R. Houlihan” on bottom right corner. Undated.
